What's a web-site on excursions in Western New York without our most famous attraction, Niagara Falls? In May 1998, I took a visitor from Australia to see this natural wonder. This view is from the American side of the falls. The view is actually better on the Canadian side, as you can then see the famous "Horseshoe" section of the falls system.
We took the obligatory ride on "The Maid of the Mist", a boat that brings you very close to the edge of the falls. Of course, getting so close has its price -- you also get soaked! Another fun activity in Niagara Falls is the "Cave of the Winds" tour. Although not actually a cave, the brief walk brings you very close to the Bridal Falls. Photos by Jennifer Weir, May 1998.
