Silent Woods Trail; July 1998 |
"I
saw a tree fall in the woods, and I didn't hear it." -- Steven Wright |
||||||
We hiked this trail several weeks after a flood hit the area. As you can see from the photo to the right, the creek waters carried the footbridge onto the bank. Sadie wanted to swim in the foul-smelling waters of this swamp. Instead, we let her swim in the (relatively) cleaner waters of the creek. Watch your head, as this water line cuts across the trail in several places. Mountain bikers, beware! The Silent Woods Trail is a short (1.75 mile loop), very pretty hike for all seasons of the year. Below, we show photos of hikes in Autumn. See more Photos of Erie County Forest hiking trails by Jennifer and Karl Weir, 1998 |
